Aspect (Derived from Bare Earth DEM 10m)

This layer represents the aspect of the terrain in Maryland, derived from high-resolution Bare Earth Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) at a 10 meter resolution. Aspect is the compass direction that a slope faces, measured in degrees.

The data is sourced from the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) through a partnership between the NRCS, FPAC BC, and the USGS. The DEMs used for aspect calculation adhere to the QL2 standard, ensuring a vertical accuracy of 10 cm Root Mean Square Error (RMSE).
