(D) Distance from Shoreline (m) (UMD)

This layer shows distance from shoreline for cropland areas in Maryland, representing the 'D' parameter in the GALDIT groundwater vulnerability index. GALDIT evaluates vulnerability based on six parameters: groundwater aquifer type (G), aquifer hydraulic conductivity (A), groundwater level above sea level (L), distance from shore (D), impact of present chloride content (I), and aquifer thickness (T). Each parameter is mapped and scored individually, and the results are combined to produce an overall vulnerability index. Distance from shoreline, measured in meters (m), is classified into ranges from less than 1,000 to greater than 4,000 m.
