Slope (Percent Derived from Bare Earth DEM 10m)

This layer represents the slope of the terrain in Maryland, derived from high-resolution Bare Earth Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) at a 10 meter resolution. The slope is calculated as the rate of elevation change over distance, providing insights into the steepness or flatness of the terrain.

The data is sourced from the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) through a partnership between the NRCS, FPAC BC, and the USGS. The DEMs used for slope calculation adhere to the QL2 standard, ensuring a vertical accuracy of 10 cm Root Mean Square Error (RMSE).
