Maryland Hyper-Resolution Hydrography Stream Line (USGS)

This layer shows high-resolution stream lines within Maryland, including headwater and low-order stream channels that may be absent from standard hydrography datasets. The data represent the spatial distribution and connectivity of surface water flow pathways derived at a hyper-resolution scale and clipped to the Maryland boundary from the Chesapeake Bay watershed dataset (2008–2021). These stream line features provide a detailed representation of drainage networks that support watershed analysis, conservation targeting, and hydrologic modeling within the state.

The data are sourced from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Chesapeake Bay Hyper-Resolution Hydrography Database, developed in partnership with the Chesapeake Conservancy and the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) through cooperative and interagency agreements with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
